Please contact the Parish Office to become involvedMusic MinistryChoir: Parishioners high school aged and up are invited to join the choir at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles. The Choir sings at the 10:00am Sunday Mass, and at special Holy Day Masses throughout the year. Cantors: Leader of the song ministry from the altar areas, serves to encourage the assembly to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord” with hymns, songs, and responses throughout the Mass. Organists: St. Mary Church is blessed to have a wonderful pipe organ built by the Hall Organ Company in 1924, one of the few remaining pipe organs from that era. Ladies GuildAn active, vibrant group whose mission is to provide spiritual and social enrichment for the women of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles. Members are invited to an annual meeting each June and an annual Christmas dinner. There are various ways to participate: baking, organizing an event, or simply lending some time and talent volunteering at one of our events. All women of the parish are invited to join. The Youth Group assists with parish events that foster both fellowship, education and growing faith. Legion of MaryAn international association of the faithful of the Catholic Church who serve on a voluntary basis. The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of laypeople in the Church. Members give glory to God through prayer and service. Family ClubA parish organization that, through fundraising and fellowship, supports the work and efforts of our parish. Finance CouncilA group that advises and consults the Pastor on financial decisions within the parish. LectorReader who proclaim the sacreds Scriptures at Mass and other services. UsherVolunteers who assist people to their seat if necessary. They also take up the collection. |
Knights of ColumbusThe Knights of Columbus is the largest fraternal order in the Catholic Church. Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to men 18 years of age or older who are practicing Catholics in union with the Holy See. RCIARite of Christian Initiation – preparation of adult candidates for Catholic sacraments. Please call the rectory at any time to join the Catholic faith or continue with sacramental preparation. Altar ServersBoys and girls are invited to serve an important role by assisting the priest at the celebration of the liturgy. St Mary-St Michael SchoolPlease consider volunteering your time and talents at our Parish school. Come and hear from students and parents about all our school has to offer the children of our parish. We have a Before and After School Program, the Little Saints Program, and it opens at 7:00am and closes at 6:00pm daily. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy CommunionExtraordinary Ministers of Communion who serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound. Religious Education Teachers/SubstitutesOur faith formation program is always seeking practicing Catholics as enthusiastic and faithful teachers to help instill the faith and lead sacramental preparation for the people of our parish. Bereavement CommitteeAssists families in selection of songs and readings for the funeral Mass. Or assist Father in serving the funeral Mass. GreetersParish volunteers who warmly welcome parishioners as they enter the Church for Mass. Evangelization CommitteeStrives to nurture the spiritual wellbeing and growth of our parish by providing spiritual and educational opportunities outside the weekly liturgies. Prayer Shawl MinistryCompassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are prayed into every stitch and a journal is kept with the names of all who have received a shawl. All shawls are blessed before being presented to recipients. Offertory CountersA group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week. Each group volunteers about once a month.
